Tomatoes pesticide residues need to be paid attention to

China is a major producer of fresh and processed tomatoes, accounting for 1/3 or more of the world's annual output. It is the world's largest tomato producer.

At present, tomatoes have been put on the market, and related products have also entered their peak production period.

However, to ensure the smooth launch of products, pesticide residue levels must meet the requirements of national standards of various countries.

As the world attaches great importance to food safety, pesticide residue limits in various countries are constantly updated.

China:

There are 242 limit requirements for tomatoes in the "National Food Safety Standard Maximum Residue Limits of Pesticides in Food" (GB 2763-2021), and together with the items in the 2763.1-2022 supplementary version, there are a total of 248 items.

In addition, there are 128 items for cherry tomatoes, 79 items for tomato paste, 50 items for dried tomatoes, and 39 items for tomato juice.

GB 2763 adds new pesticides and limits almost every year to better protect food safety.

Japan:

A positive list system has been implemented, and the number of pesticide residue items on tomatoes is as high as 300. The remaining hundreds of pesticides that have no prescribed limit standards must implement a "uniform standard" of no more than 0.01ppm.

European Union:

There are hundreds of pesticide residue requirements for tomatoes, and the remaining unspecified requirements are all subject to a standard of 0.01mg/kg.

Commonly detected pesticides: procymidol, acetamiprid, omethate, etc.
